That’s why our BTEC in Sport program is designed to combine elite football coaching with an industry-recognised educational qualification, giving young people the chance to develop both on and off the pitch.

The MGFA BTEC course is much more than a football training program. Students gain:

  • High-quality education in sport — with Level 2 Sports Coaching and Level 3 Sports Science, delivered in partnership with Darlington College.

  • Hands-on experience — through practical coaching sessions, work placements, and opportunities to apply learning in real-world football environments.

  • Skill development on the pitch — technical, tactical, and physical growth under the guidance of professional coaches.

We’re inviting all aspiring young athletes to attend our MGFA BTEC Recruitment Training Event:

📅 Date: Monday 24th November 2025 ⏰ Time: 7:45pm – 9:15pm 📍 Location: Eastbourne Sports Complex, Darlington

This is a hands-on, inspiring evening where prospective students will:

  • Take part in a practical football training session led by experienced MGFA coaches.

  • Meet the teaching and coaching staff who will support them throughout their BTEC journey.

  • Find out more about the course structure, college support, and work experience opportunities.


  • Ask questions about how the program can help them develop skills, pursue their football ambitions, and prepare for future careers.
