A Fantastic Week of Football, Fun and Friendship at MGFA!
What a brilliant week we've had at Martin Gray Football Academy! Our October Half Term Football Course brought together young footballers from across the area for five days of football, challenges, competitions and plenty of smiles at Eastbourne Sports Complex in Darlington.
Running from Monday 26th to Friday 30th October, the course welcomed children aged 5–14, giving them the opportunity to enjoy their football, develop new skills and spend time with other young players in a positive and encouraging environment.
More Than Just a Week of Football
Throughout the week, our UEFA-qualified coaches delivered a variety of activities designed to keep everyone involved, challenged and, most importantly, enjoying themselves. From technical exercises and small-sided matches to shooting challenges and competitions, there was plenty of opportunity for players to demonstrate their abilities and try something new.
One of the most rewarding parts of our holiday courses is watching children grow in confidence as the week progresses. Some arrive knowing plenty of other players, while others are joining us for the first time. By the end of the week, new friendships have been formed, confidence has grown and players have enjoyed experiences they'll hopefully remember for a long time.
Big Smiles and Brilliant Celebrations
Our final day was a fantastic way to bring the course to a close, with plenty of excitement around the penalty challenges. There were some brilliant strikes, impressive saves and, of course, some unforgettable celebrations!
But beyond the goals and the football, it was the enthusiasm, encouragement and positive attitude of the children that really stood out. Seeing players supporting each other, celebrating their achievements and simply enjoying being part of the group is exactly what we want our holiday courses to be about.
At MGFA, we believe football provides a wonderful opportunity for young people to develop more than their technical ability. Teamwork, communication, resilience and confidence are all important qualities that can grow through positive experiences in sport.

We'd like to say a huge thank you to every child who joined us throughout the week. Your effort, energy and enthusiasm made the course a real pleasure for our coaching team. We'd also like to thank all the parents and carers for their continued trust and support.
